Homemade Hummus Recipe

  • Food processor / hand blender
  • 400 g chickpeas (rinsed and drained)
  • 5 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 crushed garlic clove
  • juice of 1 lemon
  1. Place the rinsed chickpeas into a food processor, then add the olive oil, ground cumin, crushed garlic and lemon juice.

  2. Add 3 tablespoons of cold water also the the processor then whizz the ingredients together. Keep adding a tablespoon of water at a time, until you get a smooth spoonable paste (or until your desired consistency). When mixed, place the hummus into a bowl and serve or place in the fridge until required.

This delicious homemade hummus is great served with warm pitta bread or tasty falafels.
